Why Mac?
So I was asked why moved to Mac? And why ditch Windows?
By no means am I an authority on this, but here’s 3 reasons I could think of.
Security
Since I migrated to Mac, I have not done any “virus definition file upgrade”! In the Windows world, I used to have to do this almost every week. Also, no need for anti spyware, adware blah blah blah. Due to the popularity (and inadequte security) of Windows, it seems that every minute, someone somewhere round the world is writing some code for some new virus, spyware, adware. Because of all this nonsense, every application, every file you open in Windows has to be scanned by, not one, but at least 3 programs (anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware) to verify for its “safety”. And you could add to this list in future! Also, as each definition file gets larger (which it will as there’s always new virus everyday), each scan takes longer. Thus lots of resources is wasted doing something mundane like this, when we could be lot more productive.
Ease of use

See this? All I need is a remote control (comes with my Mac Mini of course), and i could play music, watch DVDs, browse my photo albums…
Isn’t this more fun than scanning for virus?
You really need to use a Mac to appreciate this. Remember the days you had to install drivers for every device you connect to your PC? It’s much better these days but when I got my Kodak digital camera few months ago, I still had to install drivers for my Windows. And it installed its own program as well, rendering the previous program installed for my Olympus useless. So I had to spend some time learning about this new Kodak program again. It’s not difficult but still, it’s reinventing the wheel. 2 different programs, yet functionally the same. Not with my Mac though. It recognized the Kodak and launched its iPhoto instantly. Now it doesn’t matter which camera I used, it’ll still use iPhoto.
Engineering

See the iMac? It combines the LCD monitor and CPU. Talk about saving space! Why haven’t other PC manufacturers thought of this?
The Mac Mini is the cheapest entry ticket to the cult of Mac. And also the cutest machine around!
