Mojo2 will be a great sounding Dac , Job well done..... this dac delivers great mid range clarity like no other . After all...most of the recordings is done in the mid range .

Is that  Mojo2 prototype tested with the feastrex drivers ! if so,i would be most interested in acquiring her or another one tuned to suit the feastrex driver .

How does it sound when compared to the old mojo with the 3 transistor mod ?

hi reo

i use my feastrex these days. i can't say for sure mojo2 is optimized for feastrex since a lot of the mods are user contributed. diyers like you all have a part in making mojo2.

but one thing i can say... my feastrex has never sounded better. :)

hi kp

i can't really compare. no longer using spdif output from the sd card player these days. taking i2s out now through an i2s to eiaj board.

one thing for sure, save lots of time modifying the board for upgrades!

hi kp

i'll take some photos this weekend. when i get home from work, it's already too dark for taking photos.

it's actually ready for sale.

ps: beats the shit out of spdif transmission. not to mention much cheaper too!

hi guys

got hold of smd ferrite beads over the weekend. implemented this as well as swapped direction of my texas component resistors. now the label is facing away from the trim pots rather than facing the trim pots.

hmm... there's some difference in the sound. but curiously i got an added benefit. previously when i played loud, at a certain loudness, i could feel like something is giving up. always suspected the room but now... no more such problem! huh? all this from the ferrites or the orientation of the i/v resistors?

or perhaps the regulators are so much nearer to the pcb? this seems way more plausible.

either way, i'm a happy puppy!

damn tired though as you imagined i helped to move the 900 speaker drivers and did all this as well.

perhaps my tiredness got to me and i'm imagining things?

i better listen again.

Hi diyers

Got the replacement pcb and will test it soon.

Question

How to sell mojo2? Several options?
Blank pcb?
Pcb with smd components soldered on?
Build everything up, with all paul hynes regulators around the tda1545 circuitry?

Please share your thoughts here.

Yeo

Hi Yeo
I think most of the people would want to recyle the paul hynes regulators and the iv resistor in view of the cost.
PCB with smd parts soldered is my choice .

thanks

Hi Yeo,

How about selling the board with smd components mounted as option 1, for those who have already invested in the Paul hynes regs etc, and a fully
loaded board for those who haven't yet bought Mojo.

Thanks
Dave

 Hi Yeo . ,
Pcb with smd components soldered on .
Installing Paul Hynes regulators is not so hard to install  when a picture is shown of how to .
Cost is always a factor .....more options = more sales . ;D it goes without saying .

hi guys

ok. thanks for the input. this option - pcb with smd components soldered on only, i could easily comply.

got all stuffs okay except i haven't decided on resistor value to set the cascoded ccs (bf245a/c). i tested with 300 ohm and it's very good too. what's the value you guys prefer?

thx!

i would prefer Build everything up, with all paul hynes regulators around the tda1545 circuitry which i wont solder and desolder components from the board. that i would leave her alone :)

i would also love to have option for playing around with board only smd soldered. which then i could fit a crazy  resistors from texas for playing around hoping to beat the ALL OUT MOJO2 above

this gonna be fun.. keep up the good work guys..

yeo, i could not live with my cyrus cdp. so i need the ALL OUT mojo2. hurry up pls.. :)

I'd go for smd in place as well.

(And I guess I should have been paying closer attention, but does that include the "three transistor mod" ?)

Have new PH regs here waiting so wouldn't want another set.

I'd probably be equally happy with everything in place with the exception of the regs.

Actually make that happier.

hi guys

i hear you guys. got a few kits ready (smd parts soldered on) and hope to start selling on monday.

one customer has already booked 5 so may not have so many pieces out yet.

will have more the coming week as more parts are coming in.
