    Hello Forum!!!

I writing to you because maybe you can help me regarding in terms of using Paul Hynes Regs in Monica and anything else to supply Monica as best as possible.

I've red the latest posts in the forum, but still I'm not really sure what to order especially from Paul Hynes . I'm thinking about the following, maybe you could  help me confirming this?  Roll Eyes

For a full set up (USB version + Mojo) I would need regs for: (?)

    1x USB 5V
    2x I/V (left + right channel)
1x VDD 5V for the TDA
    1x Vref 0,83V
     Grin

I understand that there's no need for the LM 317 anymore as this is only for the diode string. This string can be unsoldered.

I may need another Reg for the 5v and 0,83V to supply them. I red that they get very hot when power with more than 8V. In my case I would use a 12V gel lead acid battery for each or nearly each operation. So I would have 12,5V effectievly on these regs which is probably too high for livetime. --> Is this true? Embarrassed

What do think about supply them with battery? Or would you go for 230V??

    hi jochen

you got the right idea. however paul's 5v as well as 0.83v fare okay with 12vdc. you don't need to supply 8vdc. they work perfectly at 12v.

    OK thanks Yeo for replying.

I'll try them directly connected to my batteries.

Paul Hynes told me that the regs do clean up the often reported slow battery sound. They kind of repair the harmonics. --> I'm curious how they'll work. Grin

I want to add something! Toni just made a comparison with slightly altrered VDD for the TDA 1545.
He stated exactly 5.0V sounds the best.
