Our new Sophia2 utilizes the excellent sounding Merrill DCA5.5, modified by us, in a really compact enclosure. A pair fits nicely into a Fedex 10kg box!
Enclosure features our SeTH (Stairways to Heaven) horn, built in treated rubber wood. Yup! Solid wood! And not just some veneer, this is solid wood.
Why rubber wood?
- It's DAMN solid! May look tiny but it's really heavy.
- The bass it could reach, couldn't be reached if the enclosure was built using MDF or plywood. Yup, even marine ply.
- For once, wouldn't it be nice to get REAL wood for the money you are paying? Rather than MDF, chipboard, made from sawdust? Why lined with veneer when you can have the real thing?
- It's recyclable, processed from old rubber trees after its sap bearing years.
Use this as your mini monitor, bookshelves, AV or an extremely high end computer speakers!
