no, i didn’t try sine wave. just the above.
i built the coil prototype in the pcb and it worked right away.
we have to manage the resistance so as to not over burden the 555 timer here.
this is mixed but i have more folks preferring the box lying horizontally.

I have some questions on this project:
– Did you try sine wave instead of square?
– How did you determine shape and size of the coil?
– Should the coil be any size or shape or is the resistance more important?
– Does it make any difference if you put the box upsidedown or on a side?
Best regards,
Mischa

pcb is available. check out the e-store.

hi hh

i’m not sure whether it is a tesla design coil but i know it’s a bifilar winding.

and it works out fine.

The way this board’s traces run, it seems that the spiral directions balance out (rotating first in one direction then, on the way out, in the counter direction). I think that would leave no rotational spin and the countering current on the outward path less than the first half going in.

Although I don’t know how a Telsa design coil would have any spin direction either as the coil rotates in one direction when viewed from one side and in the opposite direction when viewed from the opposite side.

A mobius antenna however has a specific LEFT or RIGHT directional twist. I wonder if there’s a way to wrap the traces to adapt. Check out Pat Flanagan’s Coast to Cost interview:

Can you please tell me what brand and model number of box you used? I’ve ordered the resonator pcb so I’m looking into a box for it.
